Axxess is a home health care technology company that was founded in 2007 by John Olajide who had seen some of the inefficiencies many agencies were facing with regard to wound and illness care to billing and general paperwork. While he was tasked with creating a computer network for one home care company, he immediately noticed the challenges the company was facing and decided to step out and design something better.
He created Axxess and now between 20,000 and 30,000 health care professionals rely on this software to complete the work they do, track work, manage billing, and much more. There are over 7,000 organizations relying on this system and that helps them manage over 2 million patients.

When John Olajide first stepped into the home health care industry, he immediately noticed that it was an underserved industry with regard to technology. By finding a way to streamline operations for these caregivers and agencies, he knew there would be more time, money, and resources to provide actual care and support for the men and women who relied on them.
He noted that mortality rates increase for patients on weekends as opposed to weekdays and it’s directly related to staffing issues. Because health care professionals desire to be home with their families on the weekends, it means fewer providers are available on the weekends, and when communication, paperwork, and other factors take up even more of those valuable weekend hours, it causes problems.
Now, AxxessCare is being introduced and this allows patients to have a desired appointment time recorded and healthcare professionals can apply for the opportunity to serve that patient. It’s an on-demand healthcare service that some are comparing to Uber, the popular ride-sharing app that has completely transformed the transportation sector in just a few short years.
This new platform is set to roll out sometime early next year.
