A Reading, Pennsylvania woman is facing charges of Medicaid fraud. Vanessa M. Vargas, 29, is accused of submitting hours she worked as a home care attendant to multiple agencies. According to authorities, Ms. Vargas defrauded Medicaid for a total of $15,500 when she was providing care for a woman with whom she lived.

Home Care Worker Sentenced to Jail for Stealing from Elderly Client 

A Pennsylvania home health care worker was recently sentenced to a minimum of six months in jail for stealing from an elderly client. The victim in this case was an 87-year-old veteran who had hired Melissa Miller to take care of him in his home. When she became a live in caregiver, she moved in a number of her family members and friends, with different people coming and going, and as many as nine people living in a double wide trailer at the same time.
